Silver Cheppu Pendant
According to ancient Vedic texts, Cheppu was manifested out of a blaze of Shiva’s third eye. A demon was trying to have an insidious relationship with his wife Pavarti, so Shiva was understandably outraged. Cheppu made a beeline to devour the demon named Rahu. Rahu knew that he would be eaten bones and all and begged Shiva for mercy. Shiva offered forgiveness and called off Cheppu. Because Cheppu had been deprived of his prey and hand nothing to eat, he turned on himself and devoured his own body unitl only the head remained. Shiva was very pleased with his handiwork and invited Cheppu to remain as a guardian in his temple.
