Engraved Dharmachakra Buddha Bowl 1340
This masterpiece is hand-craved by a husband and wife team in Kathmandu, Nepal. They will use a hammer and chisel to carve incredible designs into each bowl taking many days to complete just one. This technique is very challenging and time consuming, so there are only a handful of artisans that have the technical skill to create these pieces of functional art.
The Dharmachakra mudra is one of the five sacred hand gestures of the Buddha. This particular mudra represents the infinite knowledge and wisdom of the Buddha. It also symbolizes the karmic web of existence that we all reside in.
